avoid buyers commission
Trying to get the price down on buying.. Can you write the offer yourself on a house listed by a realtor to avoid paying a commission to buyers realtor? Can you expect the seller to take that savings off the price of the house, say 2-3% off asking price and negotiate the price down from there? Is this possible? Its so frustrating paying these commissions with all of the free options available to a buyer now. Thanks for your time and help!!

Essentially, no. Even if you could “write your own offer” the agent has no obligation to reduce the commission. If they did, it wouldn’t be by the full commission offered to a buyer agent that would be dealing with you and guiding you through the process.
