Safe Photography for Pre-Foreclosures

Roberto Peso
Posted

This topic should apply to anyone who performs either BPOs or appraisals for properties in pre-foreclosure. Do you folks use a standard camera and stop and shoot a photo? I know some who still stop the car, get out and take the photo. Very foolish and risky IMO. I've been trying to perfect a technique of using a web cam attached to my lap top. I simply drive by the property after setting up the rig a block or so before the subject. I haven't perfected it yet, but I want to avoid taking photos of people who may be in a hostile or violent mood. I had a house recently where the subject and listing comp (which was a listing in pre-foreclosure) were on the same street and when I drove down the street which was a culdesac, it was like a block party of angry homeowners. What are you folks using? There has to be a device out there that is in a package that can be purchased. Where are the real-a-tore Queens who have all the pull with that NAR? They should have a deal set up with Office Depot. Simpson, are you out there? Where are your crusader buddies these days?
