Is 55 too old to get started in REI?

I’m just getting started at nearly 55 - too late? Obviously, younger Is better, but, I want to get my teenage boys into this with me and build passive income for my wife & my retirement as well as help set my boys up for success. We have sizable retirement accounts as well as my pension. What are your thoughts, both younger folks and us AARP members 😃

@Brian Spring

110 would be too old.

My significant other's grandmother bought and sold rental property and managed them all until the day she passed. All without a high school education.

I wish I had that level of energy.
