Appraisal Fee on small Duplex Central FL

How much is customary cost for an Appraisal in Central FL for a small Duplex? Was told 800 by mortgage broker initially which a few people said was to high and now today they come back and tell me it will be over 1k. They said we cant shop it around that the lender picks but seems like a high price when they are getting everthing else with the mortgage. Thanks for any guidance.
