Tax Defferred until 2026?

Hi All,

I've been having an interesting discussion with my attorney and CPA about the addition of Qualified Opportunity Zones to the tax laws. The gist is this: Anyone who wants to diversify from the stock market into real estate can do so with a syndication that invests in real estate within prescribed (according to census data) Qualified Opportunity Zones while deferring the capital gains tax hit for several years. It's similar to a 1031 in that there's a specific timeframe, etc. Apparently, we're still waiting for the final regulations? Anyone know anything?
