Irrevocable trust vs creditors

Kirk J Lumm
Posted

If I purchase a home in the state of TN from an Irrevocable Trust, can a creditor (not a lien holder) seek relief, payment from me?  Must the trust or the lender hold the funds for a period of time before disbursement to the beneficiary of the trust to wait to see if a creditor makes a claim against the asset?  As the purchaser, am I liable for any claims once the funds have been disbursed to the beneficiary?
