need advice on potential billboard opportunity
Hoping someone can give me some insite on this topic. I am going to put an offer in on a 23 unit apartment complex in Ft Lauderdale. I know the area well and know whats happening around the area. teh property sits directly accross the street from a high school and backs up directly against the highway I-95 on-ramp wall. My first thought was "I have my work cut out for me on the rehab but then I notice the unsusual shape of the lot. Directly behind the 3 buildings, there is a massive peice of land that may accomodate a billboard.
I realize tha this is a different animal all together but I cant help but throw some creativity into this deal. I also realize that you typically cannot own just one billboard as those companiesuse this type ofadvertising campaign would look to lease many billboards across the country from CBS or Viacom. I also have no clue about the zoning ,city ordinance or cost to erect a billboard.
There is a lot of opportunity in this property by itself but because of how and where the property is situated, I just wonder what goes into finding out if putting a billboard up is doable or sellable?
