Deed changed after seller;s siginature / notorization

I sold a property and gave the buyer a deed. I had the deed notarized at the time of signing.

There was a mistake on the deed by me and the buyer corrected the mistake with an "*" with the correction. I forgot to state I was "a married man", as martial status is required on deeds in Alabama.

While this does not affect me I assume, is this deed valid being changed after the notary stamp?
