First Trust Deed Investing

I did some first trust deed investing in California before the 2008 crash and the company I was working with evolved into a ponsy scheme.  They went to jail and recently got out.  

I'm guessing the pain has subsided and I discovered GroundFloor.com.  Does anyone know anything about this outfit?  Seems pretty legitimate but was wondering if there was anyone out there who used them?
