Land contract or lease to own with fiance

Betsy Wenger
Posted

Good morning. I am a new member looking for some guidance. I first found Bigger Pockets last year as I was going through the process of my mother's estate and trust. Fortunately, most things were in trust, as I have had several properties to deal with.

My fiance had to relocate about four hours away. He has bad credit as a result of his previous marriage and also filed for bankruptcy  due to ex's cancer bills. Fortunately she is in remission. She refused to file jointly before the divorce, so he filed after. I don't know how much of this is relevant.

He wants to be able to re-establish credit. I can buy the house. Would a lease to own or land contract be better? He is in PA. I am in OH.

Thank you
