Getting approval for FHA loan

Hey everyone!

I have a little dilemma. I figured someone who is more knowledgeable may have an answer. I recently moved to South Florida, where I've been working for myself for the past 5 months. My lease is going to be up soon and I want to move into a house that I can fix while I'm staying there. I talked to a mortgage broker friend of mine and he told me that I meet all the qualifications for a FHA loan except I don't have pay stubs for the last 5 months I've been working. What I took form the conversation is that I need to get W2 pay stubs for 5 more months to replace the months I'm miss.

Is there any other way to go around this or do I have to pick up a second part time job just to look good to the underwriter?

Any advice would be super appreciated! Thanks
