Does anyone use this strategy? Buy, Live in 1 year, and Repeat...

Does anyone use this strategy?  We have done this twice and are considering doing it a third time.  We currently have two free and clear rental properties and an additional one that has a small mortgage.  The goal is to have seven free and clear properties in 10 years. For personal reasons, leverage makes me nervous and I sleep better at night knowing I don't have $500000 in debt.
