Has anyone had experience buying vacant property from the city?

Planning to invest in my first property this year.

I’ve identified quite a few potential properties. Some of which I’ve discovered are owned by the city of Chicago. I have looked into the process and while it is time consuming. It’s not too costly. And it could be quite rewarding.

I’m wondering if anyone has had experience (good or bad) buying property from the city of Chicago (or any municipality).
