Walking Away from home in Florida

I met a friend today and she told me that she was walking away from her house in Florida after owning it for 17 yrs, she hadn’t paid her mortgage in 2 yrs, she is planning to go pick up her stuff next week but also stated that the house has mold, she was decided to just walk away.
