Hiring Door Knockers

Hello, 

This is officially my first post of hopefully many more. I wanted to know if anyone on BP has ever hired or considered hiring any door knockers. I never heard of that until I moved to Georgia and I wanted to know if anyone else has done this? If so can you please explain the process? For example:

1. How did you seek them out? An ad ?

2. How do they get paid (most importantly) 

3. How do you follow up / monitor them to make sure that they are actually door knocking?

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
