population growth data

hey all, im in the process of nailing down the data for my first deal. I am trying to run all my numbers and am curious  about different cities growth rates, i want to make sure the cities im investing in are growing.  When i google looking for data i get moved all over the place trying to find current data, where is a good place to find current growth data and also other useful data? Thanks in advance for the great advice!
