Buying DEA seized property

Has anyone had any experience on buying property that was seized because funds from drug sales was used to purchase? I am wondering how long after the sentence was haded down on the owner before it went to sale and where they typically sell the property. This man and his wife was sentenced back in June the house is abandoned but when I called the DEA they sent me to the US Marshals office and the US marshals know nothing about it. I’m wondering if I should start looking else where for it, or if it’s still to early.
