After several months of research and analysis my business partner and I are under contract for our first fourplex in Cincinnati Ohio. We need a great building inspector and if anyone has a recommendation it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the information. After making several calls I went with Terry Haynie from National Property Inspections. Terry took the time to explain his process and what I could expect rather than just a sales pitch that I heard from many of the other companies I called. He quoted me at $400 for the inspection, $70 for the termite inspection, and an optional $295 for a sewer line inspection from a third party. I only went with the inspection and termite.

One problem I did hear over and over from different companies was that the roof could not be inspected because it is flat and too high for the inspectors to get on. Terry told me if I really wanted to have the roof inspected I should have a roofing contractor inspect the area. I was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem, and if so how it was dealt with? Because the owner does not know the age of the roof I’m leaning on knowing rather than guessing its condition.
