Hello BiggerPockets Family, 

I'm in the process in buying multi-family units in the 7 city area, possibly in Portsmouth,VA. Which areas are good for rentals? Which areas are up and coming? And where can I find rental trends in certain areas?

@Silenceux Francois - I live, landlord, property manage, flip, and wholesale in Hampton Roads - all 7 cities.  There is nothing about Portsmouth I would call up and coming.  I do own some rentals there but don't want to add any more. It is the #1 most expensive city for taxes - 1.3% vs.1.1% in Norfolk and .9% in Virginia Beach. What kind of rentals are you looking for?  SEC 8, higher income, weekly rentals, apartment buildings?  We have lots of options and your neighborhoods will depend on your strategy.
