Considering Vacation Home Purchase in Pocono Mountains

Hello BPers,

I am considering a vacation home purchase in Eagle Rock Resort Hazelton, PA.  I stayed at the resort recently and loved it.  Great amenities, fabulous homes, and close to my primary residence in Philadelphia.  I also viewed a number of homes while I was there but my Number 1 went pending before I could place a bid.  What's left doesn't cut it for me.  Therefore, I have to wait for homes that fit my criteria to come onto the market or I was thinking of possibly purchasing land and building.

Is anyone here familiar with Eagle Rock Resort?  What is the good, the bad, and the ugly in your opinion.  Also, I would like to hear the pros and cons of purchasing an existing home versus a new build.
