Wanting to gain experience in rehab projects

Hello ,

The company that I was working for was sold and some leadership positions were no longer needed including mine. I received a generous severance package and now have some time on my hands to pursue my interest in investing in real estate.

I'm mostly interested in rehabbing homes and have done a ton of research over the last year. I would like to project manage some rehabs free of charge just to gain experience, can someone give me some guidance on how I might do this in the Houston TX area. Thanks
