I live in NJ,d and I am buying a house in Michigan for a SFR. Do I start an LLC in Michigan? Do I use a NJ LLC?

Marty, this is a great question and he gets asked a lot by new investors. you want to create your LLC in a state that protects you and your business the most. The states that we use for our properties are in Nevada and Wyoming. The states are non-piercing states which means that if somebody does try to come and see you that they can only take your LLC and they cannot come and attack you personally. This is where I would recommend creating your LLC. You can use LegalZoom or other websites to create your LLC quickly and easily.
