Do you work under contract with real state agents?

Hello BP. I was wondering how you guys work with real state agents. I am currently working with one but he made me sign a 6 month contract that says I have to buy a property through her and that even if I go buy a for sale buy owner I would have to pay the 5% broker fee to them. This is making me feel very limited to the amount of homes I could buy.

Every real state book points out the importance of having a RS agent but I don't see how it is helpful to have an agent if they all put you under contract.
