I am a newer investor who currently has 2 rental properties in Lansing, IL.  I buy for cash flow and am so far happy with the area and returns.  However, I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket and would like to invest in another town or two near by that are safe, have low taxes, and a rent to purchase price that makes the numbers work.  I am from the Orland Park area but it's still hard to know which areas are recommended and will attract good renters with good returns.  I am look for any feedback from investors who either have suggestions for Lansing or the following areas.  It has been suggested that Dolton township is difficult to deal with and I hear Country Club Hills has high taxes.  Here are some other areas I am investigating:

  • Calumet City
  • Calumet Park
  • Lynwood
  • Glenwood
  • Riverdale
  • Thorton
  • Posen
  • South Holland
  • Matteson
  • Richton Park
  • Chicago Heights
  • Burbank
