Attorney Requirements in South Carolina
Hi all,
My understanding is that real estate transactions are required to be "overseen" by an attorney in South Carolina. But I am having difficulty finding out exactly what all they are required to do. Does anyone have insight on this topic? I have an appointment with a local attorney in a few days, and my plan is to ask him the same question, as well as ask what pricing he can offer for me as an investor who plans to bring him repeat deals. Can anyone offer any additional specifics about this topic I should discuss? Thanks in advance.

South Carolina uses attorneys in place of title companies. It is the same process and product (title insurance) just South Carolina does not allow title companies.
My experience in South Carolina has been that the paralegals do 99% of the work on closings and I know the primary paralegal I work with but I couldn't tell you the name on the door.
