Looking to buy first home- Hamilton, New Jersey
Hey guys, I wasn't sure if this was the correct area to post but I am looking for some advice.
I am 25 years old, married and a E-5 in the Air Force, I just received orders to move to McGuire AFB NJ in July and was looking into buying a home near Hamilton since this will put me in between the base and the College of my choice.
My plan is to purchase a home using the VA loan (0% down) and live there until I separate (about 4/5 years if i don't get new orders) or if i can convince my wife that NJ isn't that bad to live in, haha. When I move i would like to rent it out or sell, depending on which would be the smarter choice at the time, but I am leaning more towards renting it.
Is this a smart thing to do? I looked for duplexes to buy but of the ones we saw, none seemed to peek my wife's fancy. (Trenton area especially)
Should I find a buyers agent and start looking for a house now? I guess what I really am asking is what steps would you guys take in my situation. Does anyone know of reliable/credible agents that would be able to help me out?
Thank you!
