Kenosha County Investing

I’ve been working on narrowing down where to invest and being in Chicago, there is no shortage of property types or demographics. If I were to look outside of the city and surrounding suburbs, one area I find interesting is Kenosha and Kenosha County. There are local jobs, new business and warehouses moving in and logistically the city is near both Milwaukee (also a very interesting area) and Chicago. I’ve taken a couple trips up there recently and driven around, still getting a feel for the rent rates and neighborhoods. Would anyone be able to provide any insight or advice on the area?

Good area. Housing stock is good, job growth, and good renters. Issue is the rental rates are 20-30% less than IL. Make sure your buy is sub $45k if you select kenosha so you can achieve as close to 2% as possible.
