Closing Off Market Deals

Hey everyone,

I'm a newer real estate investor, but I have done a couple deals through the traditional MLS and real estate agent process. I'd like to move towards finding an off market deal for my next purchase, but the part that intimidates me is the contract and closing process without having an agent to walk me through everything.

I'm not so much concerned with finding the deals (although I know that will be a challenge), but more so with the steps in the process that come after the initial negotiations have been settled. Does anyone that has experience doing off market deals have any advice as to how you got comfortable doing them? I'm looking for a buy and hold rental property that could either be rent ready or need some work to get into position to rent.

Thanks in advance!
