Do equity loans work on any town?

I'm very interested in a mobile home to live in, maybe remodel it as I'm paying it off and resell it. I was wondering if i could use an equity loan for this. In fact this equity loan is from my parents home which is under my name! Will i be able to use an equity loan to buy this mobile home that is located in a different town? Does that matter or do i have to stay in The same town in order for me to use this loan?
