Hello BP,

Reaching out to the Chicago real estate agents and Investors,  I have some friends that will be moving to Chicago and looking to buy in the near future.  Any recommendations on A neighborhoods near UIC Hospital and Rush Hospital?   Any recommendations on schools both public and private for elementary school kids.

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

@Richard C. Depending on how close they want to be, how much they want to spend and their requirements for the neighborhood, I think most are probably looking at South Loop, U Village, Tri-Taylor, maybe Pilsen. Cannot speak on the schools down there but most of my clients that live down in that area do private school. It really just depends on their requirements.

I can recommend some names for real estate agents if that help.

@Richard C. University Village/Little Italy, West side, West town, Tri taylor are all great and safe areas to live in.

I would say to stay above the Metra line around 16th street. Below that is Pilsen which is an upcoming neighborhood turning around but may not be the right fit

On West side/West town I would not go West of United Center (same narrative as above). The best would be to stay east of Ashland which runs vertical

For the Tri taylor area (heart of UIC & Rush Hospital) I would stay east of Damen.

Hope this helps a bit. Chicago is VERY block by block and by no means is what I am saying the end all be all but just my two cents. Hope this helps would love to connect with you and your friends to assist them further!

@Jeff Dulla agree! A lot of it depends south loop is also hot and a short 15 minute drive or so to the hospitals above! Private schooling is the way to go as the elementary schools can be hit or miss

What is their budget and are they looking for a SFH, MFH, condo, or what? That will impact things greatly. I know the local schools pretty well, but what their budget is and what they're looking for impacts things greatly.
