About to get my RE license & investing DFW area

Hi! I'm about to get my RE license (Texas-DFW area) and if any of you know I would like some advice about brokers. I am not looking to sell real estate full time so big firms don't seem the way to go. I want to be licensed more to help us with our investments. We have 4 rentals and will have our first rehab soon. Any firm I should look into? Can I lease my own properties? Any advice will be very very appreciated!!!! It seems exciting but very confusing too!!!
