Title Insurance on a Tax Foreclosed Property
I purchased a vacant lot in N.C. at a County Tax Foreclosure Sale about 14 years ago. I recently decided I would sell it, found a buyer but cannot get title insurance because the the county law office did not properly notify the heirs. A private lawyer told me I would need to file a "quiet title" but that could cost 5k. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to obtain title insurance there have been no contestments to title in the 14 years I have owned it.
