Property manager out of state?

Hello everyone!! I've posted on here several times and had great response. I am currently living in Syracuse New York. I really want to get into a duplex/ quadplex, fha so will be living there for one year while renting other apartments. I am looking to move to South Carolina in about a year. Can this property be managed with a property manager, or is it a bad idea to buy a home if I'm leaving in a year? Just a little scared to manage property from across the country. Not sure what cost is etc. this would be my first rental property. Thanks for any advice. Have a great day.
