USDA Loan Requirements

Hello,

I was hoping someone familiar with USDA loans could help me out with something i'm considering doing. I know USDA loans are only for single family owner occupied homes. I just recently found a property that is currently a single family home in a USDA eligible area but it has two kitchens and bathrooms and could easily be converted to a duplex. Would I be able to buy the home using a USDA loan and then split it into 2 units and rent out the other side while I'm living there?
