Is it possible to get out the contract before repair agreement

I recently made an offer to purchase a house. I sent the list of repair requests based on the inspection 10 business days ago. The seller, a relocation company for the home owner, said "yes" for major issues and "no" for minor issues.

While negotiating for my repair requests (we haven't reached the repair agreement yet), I unexpectedly received a job offer from a company, located in another state.  I had a job interview 3 months ago. I thought I was rejected from the company. I really want to go for this new job out of state. Is there a way I can get out of the contract for a house?  I gave $1,000 check to the listing agent as the earnest money.

I have not discussed about this issue with the seller. Before starting the discussion, I want to understand my situation or options. Please, fill me in with your advice.
