Help with House Hack in Philly

Hello BP Philly:

Looking for some house hack help in Philly...or advice actually for my 26 year old.

Our son lives and works in the city...right by the Comcast Building.  Currently he rents in Graduate Hospital area.  He is single, straight, and has quite  strong income.  I keep after him to by a house/investment and he is now starting to look into it.  The problem that I can't help him with is where to look.  He likes where he is at but not sure it is affordable for him --  he can probably afford 3 or 350k but these and higher don't seem like they would cash flow if his job transferred him out of town in 18-24 months (which likely it will).  Although I am sure he would prefer something only requiring cosmetics, a rehab single or duplex could also be good...but then I'd be asking the question about a good contractor.

Any ideas on what/where to look or maybe a solid city real estate agent that understands investment?

Appreciate any help / direction --  Bernie
