@Kelly Bredlow First of all, I completely agree with @Tim Macy about buying Spurs apparel!!!! But to your point, its going to depend on you, your preferences, likes/dislikes, budget, and time frame among other things. San Antonio is growing and appreciating at a very nice rate so the majority of all neighborhoods are appreciating. What are some of your criteria that you're looking for when you move down here? Do you want to live close to downtown, have a short drive to work, be in a hip neighborhood? Figuring out what you'd like out of your property would be your first step. After that I would figure out how you're looking at financing this property and if you're ok with buying something that needs a decent amount of work. These questions can go on and on but hopefully this pushes you in the right direction. If you have no preference as to a newer or older build and are looking to buy in an appreciating area I would look near downtown or within several miles of it. Places like Tobin Hill, Beacon Hill, Woodlawn Terrace, Alta Vista, Lavaca and similar Neighborhoods are extremely BEAUTIFUL and provide the convenience of a short drive to Downtown. These places have become fairly competitive though and prices have skyrocketed over the past several years. Personally, I would stay away from Dignowity. Although its a Historical District and prices keep on going higher and higher, I feel like if the neighborhood is going through Artificial Inflation and hasn't turned around the crime rates enough for me to want to live there, CURRENTLY. I would check out Five Points, Government Hill, and Southtown if you want to catch some nice appreciation over the next couple of years. All three are surrounded by some of the previously stated neighborhoods but still haven't skyrocketted in price like the others. And with the plans set in place for further development around The Pearl and lower Broadway St Corridor, Government Hill would be my choice if I wanted to catch appreciation and have all the commodities of Urban living, although Southtown would be a close second with the Redevelopment of the Lone Star Brewery. Maybe I provided a little too much detail without knowing some of your criteria but I'm just a very excited born and raised San Antonian who is a big fan of the growth that we are going through. Hopefully I didn't overload you with too much info. Let us know if you have any specific want or needs out of the property you want to buy in San Antonio and we can nudge you in the right direction. Wishing you the best of probabilities in your move down to the Beautiful and Growing San Antonio area!!!!!!
