Where to find good multifamily property deals?
Hello all and thank for taking the time to read my questions and answering them!
I am a new investor in real estate and I am from West Michigan. My goal is to buy my first multifamily property by May of 2017. I am finishing college this semester and I am 22 studying my last semester in Costa Rica. So while I was here I have been looking for deals to buy when I get back, however, I am not seeming to find the best deals on trulia, etc.
So, for the experienced investors out there, any help would be greatly appreciated and my question is, what is a good way to find multifamily deals other than through the mls (trulia, Zillow, etc.)?
Also, I will attend my first MREI meeting on December 10th on buy and hold properties to learn and network! For those of you living in Michigan, have any of you been to this or another real estate club and if so, how are they?
Thank you again for any help and information, as it is much appreciated and I will keep you all tuned in, on my deal searching!
- Nick

@Ken Teng - problem is that the "rusty belt" lost jobs as much due to automation as globalization. Manufacturing output in the US is currently at an all time high, but jobs are lower than 1940s. China and others are now losing jobs for same reason. So jobs aren't "coming back" for manufacturing no matter what anyone wants to claim. That said, we can put people to work on infrastructure. We are just going to have to go deeper in debt to do it.
