Joint tendency or tendency in common

Hi there! I'm considering buying my first real estate investment in the Chicago area, w/ one of my siblings. Has anyone ever bought a place w/ a partner? If so, how would you recommend holding the title. I know there's joint tendency and tendency in common. I've done a lot of research but just wanted to get an idea what everyone thought on here. Any advice or personal experience is much appreciated! Thanks!
