Finding the Right General Contractor?

So my wife and I are back at it again. We decided to get back into the game of house flipping. We had done some house flipping in the past but it was under the supervision of one of our real estate mentors. This time we are jumping in on a solo dive and doing it on our own. We have a pretty good idea of what is a head of us but as you know the road it not always are smooths as it looks on the map. The property we are attempting to purchase is a bit away from where we live and its a hands off project instead of using our local friendly contractors. What I am asking the Bigger Pockets tribe is what  are some techniques used to find the right General contractor, to make sure the job gets done to budget and to the quality to stick out (in a good way) once it's on the market.
