CapEx Value in SFH?

In your personal / professional experience, what value is added to a single family residence where the furnace & A/C unit is completely replaced. For example, if a mid 90's home is listed for sale with original furnace / AC and the seller spends $10k to replace them both, does that add $10k in value to the home? How would an appraiser look at that in relation to comps?
