Barriers to Buying Rental with Foundation Issues
I'm curious as to any other special requirements or costs that may be necessary by the buyer when purchasing a property with foundation issues. After you have paid for the foundation to be repaired by a contractor, will you need a Structural Engineer to sign off on these repairs, or do Cities need to inspect this in-house? Are there any additional costs the buyer should be aware of? (especially with the property being declared a rental) Also, can you typically get conventional lending on a property with foundation issues?
I would love to hear if anyone has any experience or knowledge here!
