Risks of not getting a survey

Last week I went under contract with a wholesaler in Austin and the double-blind close is scheduled for early next week. It does not look like I'll be able to get a survey in time for the closing. The house is in an older neighborhood that is platted.

Do most investors require a survey in this scenario?

@Matthew Atkinson I'm going to agree with @Manny Cirino on this. Older plats are notorious for problems. A good deal of them are nothing more than a picture that do not work mathematically. You really need a survey to be sure you are getting what you think you are and more importantly make sure you don't have title issues that are not apparent on the surface - adverse possession and such. Full disclosure - I am a surveyor.
