Looking to purchase a home in San Diego CA $450k with a VA loan. Any idea of what I can expect to pay in closing cost? Any strategies on decreasing these costs as well? Any feedback appreciated.

A mortgage broker will most likely be able to answer this for you

My fellow Detroiter. Congrats on making the move. Winter with 90" of snow forced me to leave years ago.

Closing costs vary based on your situation. My co-worker, who is exempt (retired and disabled) paid roughly $4k vs $17k they originally quoted him for non-exempt.

Send me a private message if you need help finding a place or if you need a lender that specializes in VA loans.

Vil

@Vilson Nikollaj...thank you sir..I was quoted at about 3% of the actual value of the home, I just wanted to confirm that that was roughly in the ballpark.  If I need any assistance on anything I will surely contact you.  Thanks again.   Ed

@Edward Oliver

Shoot me a PM. 3% is a round number that is thrown around a lot. With a VA loan, there is a lot of wiggle room with fees because of the way interest rates are structured (versus a conventional).

Would love to connect with you!
