House hacking Good property?
Hello BP!
This is my first post, I was hoping to get some advice on buying a duplex that I would househack with. First side is 3 bed 2 bath with 2 car garage. Second is 2b2b with 2 car garage. My family and I would live in the 3 bedroom. The 2 bedroom currently rents for 750 but I think I could raise it to 800-825.
The house is currently on the market for $215,000 but I think we will be able to get it down to 200,000 with closing cost.
My mortgage would be around 1280 with insurance and PMI. We are comfortable paying 850 towards the mortgage but could cover 1280 if the other unit is , Which would put a total of 1600 with the other rent. That would leave $320 extra to save for costs towards the 2 bedroom side.
