What's your investing story Fayetteville NC members?

Fellow investors in the Fayetteville area, I would love to get to know more of you. I've heard a little about the REIA group that meets once a month. Are there any other meet up groups in or around the area? Or mastermind groups? I actually live 90 min out of Fayetteville, in the Southern Pines/Pinehurst area, and would love to meet up with folks in that area too. I don't get on the BP forum too often (can be a distraction from getting work done, lol), but I'd really like to connect with other local investors face to face.

So besides that, I am curious what types of deals other local investors are doing in the Fayetteville area? Are you flipping, buy and hold, etc? What has your experience been like? I'm a landlord currently with 3 SFHs, 2 of which are local.

Also curious what your thoughts are on the current market in our area? I don't know much about multi family, but the prices of SFHs are fairly low compared to other areas. The low price of foreclosures and the abundance of them is one of the big reasons I started buying properties here. Also, after being a long-distance-landlord for the past 8 years I wanted to be closer to my rentals. What are the reasons you like investing here? Do you think prices will rise/drop/stay stable moving forward? From my observations it seems like the crash of 2008 didn't really hit this area until around 2011....is that about right? Some real estate experts are predicting another financial crisis is coming in the next few years. Any thoughts on that in relation to our market? I have a property in MN that I bought in 2005 when prices were high. I just put it on the market last week because prices are high again in that area. So I could see a crash happening there and in other hot markets. But Fayetteville's market doesn't seem that hot. I could be wrong though, so feel free to correct me.

I apologize for all of the random thoughts and questions. Like I said, I don't get on BP too often so I've had a lot of thoughts running through my mind.
