Insurance Lapsing While Under Contract
Question: Seller contacted me and wanted to move our scheduled closing up by 10 days on some commercial property I'm buying. Their reason was said to be because the insurance is lapsing on the building one week prior to closing and they don't want to incur the cost of renewal for only a week's worth of coverage. How does insurance in these situations typically work?
