Proof of Funds for Cash Difference After Low Appraisal

Hi, Do you think it is a reasonable request to ask for the actual appraisal amount of a low appraisal and proof of funds for the cash difference? It is written in the purchase agreement that the buyer will bring up to $6K cash to the table if the appraisal comes in low, since the property sold for more than asking price in a bidding war.
