Preventing Squatters

Hi Everyone!

I have a property in Perris, CA that I will be remodeling with the hopes of selling. The other day my contractor stopped by the property and found some squatters. Luckily they left the property. However, I am concerned that after the remodel is done and there are no longer cars sitting in the driveway, some squatters may break in and make a new home for themselves potentially damaging all the costly work that has been done.

Does anyone have any experience with how to deter squatters from the property?

Thanks!
