Big or small house
Hi I'm looking to buy a lake lot, hoping to get for between $160k-$180k. I want to build a house that my family will live in for a few years but will have good resale value. We can easily afford to build a $300,000 or 2,200 sq ft house on the lot. Many of the other houses around it are huge and probably 3-4,000 sq ft houses. We could afford to build bigger, but it would be tight and we really don't need a bigger house. Is it smart to build a $300,000 house on a $180,000 lot? Thanks for your help.
